Alex Gutierrez is the founder of the Corporate Ethics Foundation and current President of the foundation. He stepped down as the CEO of an international incentives business in February 2008 to write a book about his spiritual life journey and to dedicate his time to promote this new concept for changing the way corporations do business in America.
Alex's background in the incentive marketing industry, where he grew a small Internet startup business to a multi-million dollar corporation with a leading position in the online incentives industry over a period of eight years, makes him specially suited to lead the creation of the technology required for the Corporate Ethical Index.
The Corporate Ethics Foundation’s mission is to provide the general public with information about the ethical behavior of corporations, so that the common citizen may influence the required behavioral change in corporations that will lead to a better world for all.
The Corporate Ethics Index (CEI) is an index to measure ethical behavior of companies with regards to their community and the environment, created through an online application that aggregates the individual rankings of thousands of individual consumers of products and services in the United States, in a way similar to which Amazon.com rates books, or Netflix rates movies. With this index available to the general public, consumers can make a more educated decision on what products and services to buy and on which companies to invest their savings.
