Ecosystem thinking is at the core of our work, emphasizing the city, community and home as a complex system
characterised by continuous change and development. With each project we endeavour to create systems, which
encourage diversity, are adaptable and accessible. Rather than blanket solutions we advocate the provision of adaptive
frameworks, within which communities can grow and adapt according to local regional and global circumstances.
Design should be a process of enablement, that encourages rather than inhibits pluralism, through the methods by
which we structure design interventions, the choice of fixed and fluid elements, and scales. New tools should evolve
which are more open ended, focused on information, improvisation and dialogue, less certain, less prescriptive and less
deterministic.
