Comprising my experiences both from the academic and practice, I would say, like many other developing cities architecture in Bangladesh is a strain between highly specific limiting conditions and architects own artistic interpretation. Architecture and planning in the context of Bangladesh is a dilemma between economic and environmental aspects. In our cities Architecture has often occupied an ambivalent position, being characterized as either an environmentally responsive building or a meretricious box to achieve highest economical benefit. Even architecture in Bangladesh is still seeking for its own cultural identity as well as the sustainability with proper concern. In this circumstance, it seems to me a Graduate Degree is simply not enough to investigate a true contemporary thought in the field of architecture of a country with multiple limiting conditions. Therefore, I decided to go for further investigation in the massive manifesto of Architecture toward a sustainable human civilization. Currently I am studying Masters of Design Science in Sustainable Design at the University of Sydney.
