Dr. Aboulnaga is a Professor in Sustainable Architecture and Built Environment. He is an expert on Sustainable Built-environment and Green Building. Professor Aboulnaga is an Advisor at The Executive Council, Government of Dubai. He was involved in developing Dubai Government Green Building Policy and Dubai Heat Island and Orthophotos Flyover Project in collaboration with Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, California-US. Prior to that, he held a position of the Dean of College of Design at University of Dubai from July 01- Sept 05}. He is the elected Vice President of ASHRAE Falcon Chapter. He was the President of WREN Chapter–ME Region from 03-06 in U.K and one of the founding members of the Architectural Permanent Committee of UAE Society of Engineers. Prof Aboulnaga sits on the Editorial Board of the Int’l Journal of Low Carbon Technologies, Univ. of Nottingham, U.K. He is an active member of renowned International Accredited Professional Bodies notably, Society of Building Science Educators; ASES, and ASHRAE in U.S.A.; and ISES in Germany and the WREN/WREC in U.K. Prof Aboulnaga has over 25 years of eminent experience in senior management and faculty positions, consultations, and has a strong links of cooperation with many organisation, and research institutions in USA, Europe and Asia and Australia. He is author and co-author of more than 50 published int’l refereed journal and conference papers and holds a Ph.D. in Bldg. Environment, from the Univ. of Leeds, U.K.
