Born in the city of Mérida, Yucatán, in 1957.
Graduated from the Iberoamericana University in 1980. Director of Duarte Aznar Arquitectos S.C.P from 1986 to now.
Winner in the Santa Ana Market Renovation Competition, Mérida, Yucatán, in 2002. First Prize in the Regional High Speciality Hospital Competition,Yucatán, in 2003. First Prize in a Hotel and School Competition, Nuevo Vallarta, Nayarit, in 2004. First Prize in the Ecostation for the Yucatán Peninsula Mangrove Conservation, Celestún Biosphere Reserve, 2007.
Candidate for the 2nd Mies Van der Rohe Prize of Latin America in Barcelona, Spain, 2000, for the Inalámbrica Sports Units. 1st Prize in the 4th Biennial of Yucatecan Architecture, 2001, for Walmart Exterior Design, Mérida. Prize “CEMEX works 2001” in Architectural Design for the Tizimín Gymnasium. Great Prize in the 5th Biennial of Yucatecan Architecture for the Santa Ana Market, in Mérida, and 1st Prize of its category for Kin-Ha residential complex, Campeche.Introduction to the Best Work Prize in the 4th Biennial of Iberoamerican Architecture in Lima, Perú, 2004 with the Santa Ana Market, this work also get Mentions of Honor in the 14th Biennial of Panamerican Architecture in Quito, Equator, and in the 8th Biennial of Mexican Architecture in Acapulco, Guerrero. Great Prize in the 6th Biennial of Yucatecan Architecture with “The Wedge” beach house and 1st place in the Education Category for Playa Norte Complex. Conferences in Mexico and other countries.
