Architects and founding partners of El Dahan & Farid Engineering Consultants, Ltd., received a Bachelor of Architecture, Faculty of Engineering, Cairo University in 1978. The following years {1978 – 1989} were spent with the Renown Architect Hassan Fathy in the team of Architects of ‘The International Institute for Appropriate Technology’. Rami El Dahan established together with Soheir Farid their own practice in 1983. Since that time the office has grown and gained extensive experience in the field of Architecture, town planning and urban design as well as building using local vernacular architectural style and the use, as a first priority, of locally available construction materials such as stone, bricks, earth and wood. El Dahan & Farid Engineering Consultants, Ltd. has been involved in numerous large scale planning, urban design and master planning projects for Recreational, tourism and development resorts as well as Residential, Religious, Commercial Rehabilitation and Restoration projects Resorts, in addition to Administration Projects.

R. El Dahan & S. Farid has participated in several Seminars, Conferences and Workshops in different Universities and countries such as Italy, Belgium, Spain and Cuba.
