Abdel-moniem El-shorbagy is an assistant professor of architecture and design.He received his Ph.D.in Art History from the University of Canterbury, New Zealand in 2001.Dr.El-shorbagys thesis entitled The Architecture of Hassan Fathy: Between Western and Non-Western Perspectives.It focuses on the complexity of Fathys architecture and the richness and range of its theoretical intentions.His professional practice included the design of numerous residential buildings, villas, and hotels.Dr El-shorbagy has taught Architecture and Design in Egypt between 2002 and 2006.He currently teaches courses in Architecture, Design and structure at Effat University, Saudi Arabia.Dr.El-shorbagys concern now is to pass on his concepts of design to younger architects as well as to develop educational courses that reflect these concepts to the architectural students.His research interests include Contemporary Architecture theories, identity and culture.
