HAMMAD HUSAIN, 40, studied architecture at the Middle East Technical University in Turkey. He has been practicing architecture in Islamabad, Pakistan for the last 16 years and has worked in Japan for six months. His works include government and commercial buildings and private residences. He has designed over 60 houses all over Pakistan including the farmhouse of former President of Pakistan Pervez Musharraf.

Hammad’s essays and articles have been published in newspapers, periodicals and in an international book on architecture. He also holds the distinction of being the first regular architecture columnist of the country. He is a visiting associate professor at the National College of Arts, Rawalpindi Campus and has been associated with the Aga Khan Trust for Culture as an editor. Hammad has represented Pakistan at various international forums in Europe and Asia and is a former chapter chairman of the Institute of Architects, Pakistan.
