Emilio D`Alessio is a professional architect from Ancona, Italy. Other than leading his professional practice he has been investigating since the 90s the relations between sustainability and urban design.
He is a member of the Steering Committee of the European Sustainable Cities and Town Campaign and in 2003 was nominated in the expert working group “Urban design for sustainability” and later in the Urban Environment Experts Group established by the European Commission DG Env.
Since 2005 he is president of the Italian Local Agenda 21 Association and member of the World Executive Committee of ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability.
In 2005 he was invited as keynote speaker at the European Biennial of Towns and Town Planners in Copenhagen. Hei s author of many essays on sustainable design and urban issues.
