The Architecture Museum of Ljubljana (AML) is the central Slovene museum for architecture, town planning, industrial and graphic design, and photography. The museum systematically collects, stores, studies and presents material from these creative areas at temporary and permanent exhibitions.

The majority of the exhibition area accommodates the permanent exhibition about the architect Joze Plecnik, which was bequeathed to the museum by the George Pompidou National Centre of Art and Culture. In addition to the permanent display and areas for temporary exhibitions, the administration and most of the museum’s departments are based at Fuzine Castle: the Department of Historical Architecture in Slovenia, Department of Contemporary Slovene Architecture, Department of Industrial Design, Department of Photography, Department of Visual Communications and Visual Design for Electronic Media.
The Plecnik collection is displayed at a separate AML location encompassing a complex of Plecnik houses at 4 and 6 Karun Street. In Plecnik`s house also operates a Department of educational activites.

Since 1972 The Secretariat of the Biennial of Industrial Design has been based at the museum since 1972.
