Baca Architects are international award-winning architects specialised designing architecture in, on, near and under water. Baca are currently leading a new modus operandi in planning, as the motor car transformed town planning; and in the late 20th century, solar orientation emerged as a design driver, it will be water that shapes our communities in the 21st century.
Current projects include: Liverpool Waterfront, UK (UNESCO World Heritage Site) a 300 bedroom hotel and marina on the River Thames, London, The Australian underwater Discovery Centre, Perth; and a Pier Park in Boston, USA.
Established in 2008 by Richard Coutts, Royal Institute of British Architects Fellow, the practice’s theories can be found in “Aquatecture: Buildings and Cities Designed to live and Work with Water”
