Dr Shaibu Bala Garba teaches at the Department of Architecture, King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, Saudi Arabia. He has had a broad training and experience in the fields of architecture and planning. Dr. Garba had his initial professional architecture qualifying degree from Ahmadu Bello University Nigeria, where he obtained a B.Sc and M.Sc in architecture. Dr. Garba also holds a Master of Architecture from McGill University Montreal Canada with specialization in housing, a Master of City and Regional Planning from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals Dhahran, and a PhD in Architecture with specialization in Urban Design from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom. Dr. Garba is also actively engaged in research in the areas of architectural theory, socio-cultural issues in design, CAD application in architecture, housing and community design and planning and urban management. He has written more than 20 articles and papers published in refereed international journals, or presented at peer reviewed conferences and in seminars. Dr. Garba has also participated in many projects.
