Homayoun Arbabian earned his PhD in Building Technology from The University of Manchester /UK, his Master in Architecture and BSc in Architectural Engineering, both from IUST University Tehran/Iran. With a specialty in seismic design using traditional methods, is currently a Visiting Professor at SFU/Vancouver/ Canada: past dean and founder of DU (Deylaman University) a private university in Lahijan/Iran; past Assistant Professor of IUST Tehran/Iran; a current member of Iranian Construction Engineers Organization, and a registered Architect in State of Tehran. He has three sons, one of which is an electrical engineer graduate student at the University of Berkeley/California. He has more than 15 years of Professional activities and 9 years of Educational experience including; architectural design, building construction, and university professor. Prior to joining DU, he was working for the universities of; University of Tehran (TU, Faculty of Fine Art), Iran University of Science and Technology (IUST), Tarbiat Modaress University, Islamic Azad University (IAU) in Tehran, Kerman, Qazvin, Tabriz and Shiraz as an Assistant Professor. His work in School of Architecture/IUST was comprises in various positions including; Educational Deputy, head of Postgraduate, head of Building Technology Department, and director of PhD Department. These all assets, coupled with his educational experience, made him a rounded educational and professional expert who can bring a wide range of experience to architectural design and building technology education and professional activities.
