Born on the twin island Republic of Trinidad & Tobago, Vernelle studied Civil Engineering in her home country. She worked for 5 years in both Architecture and Engineering with firms such as Colin Laird Associates & Bynoe Rowe Wiltshire Partnership. Vernelle continues to consider Colin Laird as her mentor even to today. She also did several residential projects on her own that were built. She moved to Washington, DC in 2002 to study architecture at Howard University. While at Howard University she showcased artwork at a Caribbean art show and was even featured in the Caribbean Pride magazine. Two of her school projects were featured in an Architecture-based magazine {Homes of Color} in Washington, DC. At Howard University she also designed several residential renovation projects on her own, that were built. She graduated in May 2007 and after working for a year in the Washington, DC with Burt Hill she transfered to their India office for a new experience. She has travelled throughout Europe and is now travelling through Asia with her firm. She is an Artist, Engineer and Designer. Vernelle continues to investigate the arts, music, theory and architecture. She loves her profession and all that comes with it.
