Galal Abada is an Egyptian architect and Urbanist. He is also an associate professor of architecture and urban design at Ain Shams University, Cairo. Since 2005, he is working as an advisor for the Development of Makkah, Medina and the Holy Sites, Saudi Arabia. He was trained at Ain Shams University, the School of Architecture Paris-Belleville {France}, and the University of Leuven, Belgium. He received a Ph.D. in urban design from Stuttgart University, Germany. His projects and winning competitions are located in Belgium, Germany, Saudi Arabia and Egypt. He was invited to evaluate the submissions to a number of local and international competitions. He has been a member of the Supreme Council of Culture, Egypt {2001-2005} and a member of the editorial board of and a frequent contributor to the architecture magazine Medina {1998-2002}. Dr. Abada served as a project reviewer for some projects nominated for the Aga Khan Award for Architecture.
