Mr Ong Tze Boon of ONG&ONG Pte Ltd was elected as the new President of the Singapore Institute of Architects at its Annual General Meeting on 18 March 2015.
He has directed ONG&ONG architects since 1999, leading this agency, which then had 62 employees, in a holistic and multidisciplinary process of growth incorporating all aspects of design and resulting in a thriving business with 900 collaborators in eleven offices across Asia and the Pacific, including Vietnam, China, the USA and India.
Ong Tze Boon’s acceptance speech,
“As President, I will steer the Singapore Institute of Architects (SIA) towards greater connection with and relevance to the next generation of architects whilst staying true to its core values.
The institute will uphold its duty as a remarkable repository of valuable information, and continue to ensure a strong framework that supports its existing roles.
In addition to championing the cause of the architectural fraternity, the Institute will foster new innovators and thought leaders within the community. SIA will be the change-enabler for the profession and architects of promise.”
