Our perspective of the Golden Horse Film International Center is as same as an immersive urban environment for the exchange of ideas, feeding the cultural vitality of the city.
The Golden Horse Film International Center should not be considered just one building - but several. The idea was moved away from the idea of “the film center as an object” and towards the idea of a “field of buildings”.After many studies, our research evolved into the concept of the confluence of images, where the primary force of the site is the walls that constantly intersect and separate to create both indoor and outdoor spaces. It’s no longer just a film center, but a country and urban cultural centre where a dense texture of interior and exterior spaces have been intertwined and superimposed over one another.
The Golden Horse Film Center stands out as an icon, its facets are immediately identifiable from all corners of city. Simultaneously, the complex is at one with its urban environment – seamlessly connected to its immediate surroundings, via public plazas, 24-hours linkages, and dynamic facades. The complex is monumental in stature yet grounded in its context.
