With a floor space of 130 square meters, Unwrapped wanted to create a community-based multi-format fusion store that could highlight quality and comfort, aiming to provide customers with a unique and relaxing place to experience a branded buyer's store.
In the midst of a diversified city, the brand is a quiet place amidst the hustle and bustle. It is like a clear stream behind the city's bustle, softly displaying the power of women.
Space is an important carrier for the presentation of brand value. On the basis of retaining the concrete structure of the original building, the design is inspired by Tetris to redefine the spatial order. Female power is newly interpreted here. From the choice of material to the form of texture, whether it is the roughness of concrete, the delicacy of micro-cement or the hardness of stone, they are all endowed with a unique beauty of softness and toughness. Every detail is telling: female power is not weakness and obedience, but independence and confidence, wisdom and courage.
“In the design, we try to preserve the structure and frame of the original building, and cleverly break and reorganize it locally. Imagine the original building as a closed box, drawing on the principle of Tetris, the two-dimensional space is skillfully transformed into three-dimensional, these squares have different shapes, L-shaped, S-shaped, etc., and when superimposed on the game, the overlapping part naturally dissolves. We applied this principle to the design to make the spatial layout more flexible and creative.” So says designer Wang Yong.
