A lasting legacy: the intersection of history and technology from the past to the
future in the Gasso Industrial Kitchen Museum
At Hoda Yousefi Design Studio, we believe that spaces can narrate stories and mark the path of human development. Museums embody the responsibility of preserving and showcasing the legacy of the most enduring human culture, not only reflecting our past but also illuminating the path to our future.
In designing the Industrial Kitchen Museum, every space and image created tells a story of the evolution of the food industry; from the Stone Age to the modern era, in line with technological and cultural advancements of humanity. This museum depicts the story of transformations, cultural influences, religions, wars, and industrial advancements, and is a journey through human evolution to achieve a better life. Here, it is the story of innovation, perseverance, and creativity of the people who have shaped history.
In the interior design of the museum, we have tried to build a bridge between our industrial past and the future we are moving towards. By displaying industrial achievements, with the help of various graphic media and technology, we have sought to inspire future generations and promote values such as effort, innovation, and progress. Because we believe that museums are not only centers for the exchange of knowledge and culture but also places where we can learn lessons to build a better world for future generations.
In this project, inspired by the philosophy of postmodernism and taking into account the narrative concept of the project written by Dr. Ahmad Mohit Tabatabai, the head of ICOM Iran, we tried to renovate a gazsaw factory building and turn it into a dynamic museum. All content This museum was produced using artificial intelligence and this museum is the first industrial kitchen museum in the world. By choosing a color palette limited to black and gray and using geometric lines, we created a postmodern and calm atmosphere that allows the scientific content to Be in the center of attention. Accurate and calculated lighting, using the scientific principles of lighting in museums, has helped to highlight the details of the works of timelines and create visual depth. A wide range of content is provided from the Stone Age to the impact of cultures-religions-wars. In order to respect the culture and show historical films and videos, we designed a small cinema and a professional system. In the end part of the museum, the visit of the museum ends with the design of a modern coffee shop and invites the visitor to think and rest. The audio and visual systems also allow the visitor to find a complete sensory connection with the museum's narration. Due to the importance of preserving the works, advanced ventilation systems and precise control of temperature and humidity have been installed in the space. Special attention has been paid to the acoustics of the space to improve the listening experience of the visitors. The use of sound-absorbing materials and the precise design of the ceiling have helped to create a quiet and noise-free space. Also, an advanced security system is considered to protect the works. The black ceiling serves as a dark background to highlight the works and helped to create a sense of depth and infinity in the space. In the design of all objects - furniture - artworks, paying homage to the past and using factory raw materials such as steel can be seen
