Eco-friendly composite_ Mehran Shahsanaei

Mehran Shahsanaei, has successfully invented an eco-friendly composite material for constructing load-bearing walls that are resistant to lateral forces. This innovative design clinched the gold medal in the Architecture category at both the second and third editions of the International and Specialized Invention Competition held in Geneva, Switzerland, in August 2022 and 2023, respectively.

The third edition of this global competition, which took place from August 20 to 22, 2023, in Geneva, Switzerland, witnessed the participation of 830 inventions from 36 countries, including Canada, Australia, Morocco, Indonesia, Iran, Russia, Qatar, Bahrain, China, Hong Kong, Lebanon, Poland, Brazil, the United Arab Emirates, and more.

Among these 830 submissions, Shah Sanaei's proposal titled "Eco-friendly composite material for constructing load-bearing walls that are resistant to lateral forces" was honored with the gold medal in Class C (Architecture, Civil Engineering, Building, Construction, and Materials).

The judging panel meticulously evaluated each invention based on various critical factors such as public demand, economic viability, and environmental friendliness. It is worth noting that all inventions and innovations were categorized into 13 classes, including computer science, machinery, civil engineering and architecture, environmental protection, agriculture, and others.

Some people are interested in living in villas built with local materials and enjoy the smell of soil and local materials, but unfortunately, even the gardens of villas and rural houses are built with industrial materials such as cement and metal, which harm the environment. In Iran, more than 20 million rural residents live in rural houses made of industrial materials, which are difficult to access and bring materials for, and are built by the villagers themselves without any measures to tolerate the side effects of an earthquake. It causes maximum damage. On the other hand, the construction of existing traditional buildings against the lateral forces of the earthquake will gradually get little resistance.
Due to the pollution of the environment and increasing attention to sustainable architecture, in this invention, using local materials and a technical system compatible with the environment, I invented a natural and resistant composite for building a wall, which not only solved these problems but also It helps the environment and people and is in line with the 9th, 11th and 15th goals of the 17 sustainable development goals of the United Nations.
