5th Night Studio

Led by architect İrem Arıbaş and interior architect Hüseyin Beş, BAB Architects is a team recognized for successful architectural, interior design, and broadcast design projects in Turkey and around the world. For the television program “Beşinci Gece” (Fifth Night), which aired on Habertürk TV, they created a custom studio design tailored to the show’s unique concept. Combining entertainment, conversation, art, and music, Beşinci Gece offers viewers an unforgettable experience each week with different guests under the moderation of Mehmet Akif Ersoy.
The studio design stands out with its predominant use of wood materials. The architects focused on wood to create a warm and inviting atmosphere. On the left side of the studio is a cozy area for engaging conversations with guests, in the center is an impressive performance stage, and on the right is the designated area for the music band. Seascape visuals were used in the window areas to enhance the sense of depth in the space. Custom-designed LED plexiglass ambient lights with color-changing capabilities enrich the aesthetic details and present viewers with a visual spectacle.
The entire studio is set on a wide, glossy black floor. This reflective surface allows the striking decor to be mirrored, amplifying the spatial perception and emphasizing the scale of the space more effectively. Face lighting has been integrated into the studio with a contrasting and segmented structure in alignment with the planned design concept. These innovations resulted in a modern and inventive approach to flooring and lighting design.
Balconies that evoke a double-height perception, stairs, and wooden paneling, all carefully detailed by the architects, contribute to the studio’s warm atmosphere. These elements create an inviting environment where guests can interact comfortably, reinforcing the program’s intimate tone. Leather armchairs and the host’s desk were chosen to blend the classic “late-night talk show” culture with a modern touch. All these design components have contributed to giving Beşinci Gece a distinctive and contemporary identity.
