The intention behind this project was to transform an existing residential living space into a warmer, more comfortable, and visually cohesive interior through the installation of a premium grey carpet. The design approach focused on enhancing the overall spatial quality while ensuring the flooring complemented the room’s architectural features, including the bay window, fireplace, and natural lighting conditions. Grey was intentionally selected as the primary flooring tone for its timeless neutrality, ability to harmonize with various wall colours, and its capacity to elevate the sense of calm within the home.

A key objective was to create a seamless and inviting environment that balances practicality with aesthetics. The soft grey carpet provides a subtle yet sophisticated textural base, allowing the room’s existing timber elements and light-coloured walls to stand out without overpowering the space. The flooring also serves to improve acoustics, reduce visual clutter, and introduce a uniform finish that ties the entire room together.

Prior to installation, the subfloor was carefully prepared with high-quality underlay to improve comfort underfoot, increase insulation, and prolong the lifespan of the carpet. The design intention prioritised user comfort, durability, and the enhancement of day-to-day living experiences. By focusing on warm tones, smooth transitions, and meticulous detailing around corners and built-in features, the project successfully achieves a modernized, welcoming interior suitable for contemporary residential use.
