BOFF Coffee, situated at the corner of Runyao Mansion in Shenzhen’s Guangming District, is a strategically transformed hybrid space merging four original storefronts, featuring an integrated façade redesign and extended outdoor seating canopy, designed to serve dual purposes as a transitional sales venue during the project’s closing phase and a permanent community-centric commercial hub for future resident engagement.

1. Facade Design
The aluminum panel facade, inspired by traditional architectural eaves, integrates a street-facing bar seating area to enhance urban engagement. Expansive fully-operable glazing blurs the boundaries between interior and exterior, while the semi-open structural volume creates a versatile communal platform for neighborhood events.
2. Boundary-Free Interior Space
The interior spatial logic extends the outdoor streetscape inward. Landscaping elements are integrated throughout, with green ceramic tiles on the bar’s backdrop wall echoing exterior vegetation. Zones are naturally divided by landscaped planter boxes, utilizing varying plant heights to create transparent yet intimate partitions. A palette of large-scale beige textured paint and wood veneer delivers rustic simplicity. Original load-bearing walls, visually bulky in the space, are subtly softened through strategic application of gray mirror surfaces.

3. Detail Design
The ceiling adopts a semi-open design, with integrated timber beams housing adjustable track lighting. Removable fixtures allow positional flexibility to meet multifunctional needs. Seating areas feature leather cushions paired with wood accents, enhancing zoning definition and user comfort. Engineered wood flooring establishes spatial warmth, while localized black gravel and natural stone inserts introduce organic playfulness.
