Located on Buyukdere Street, the newly developed business district of Istanbul, the project is a planned as a mixed-use development consisting of 32 floors which is aimed to be a landmark for the city. B199 Istanbul project stands out from the buildings nearby with its design inspired from the historical urban topography of Istanbul. The project aims to be a bridge integrating the spatial discontinuity between two sides of the site, Buyukdere and Gultepe district.
The project is mainly composed of residences which are designed detached from the ground level and located on the upper floors. The level difference of seven meters between two sides of the site enabled to design three storey office and showroom spaces under ground level with direct connection from the outside. The office spaces are designed as a buffer zone between retail spaces and residences on intermediate floors. While the ground is designed as a public space, the roof of the offices are designed as a secondary level which is a green and recreational area for the use of the residents as private space. Every floor and residence acquires a unique character as a result of the differentiation of the façades and terraces for optimum benefit from the sun and the city view.
