The Cabinet House

THE CABINET HOUSE is a simplest module of daily life for a bachelor. At the present situation, when interiorization of urban space is omnipresent; more and more of public domains are covered and weatherproofed, the cabinet houses find themselves perfect sites for their colonization. Instead of adopting the conventional way of living, the cabinet house condenses all the necessary programs together and removes all internal connections. In other words, what we normally call circulation or corridor is flipped to the outside. By getting from one program to another, the resident has to step out of the house into public space first then get back inside again. In a day, as he or she continues his or her practice of daily life, the changes from private space to public domain, and vice versa, happens so many times that the frontier between public and private is dissolved. The space where the cabinet house situated has become part of the house. Adjacent public programs become extension of domestic uses.
