“Design M for METAPHOR”!
This would be the best way to paraphrase the brief given by the client. The project meant to showcase the upcoming Metro Rail project was to be conceived as a Timeline Museum which should impart three types of experiences- a museum experience, a virtual experience, a recall experience.
The form is derived from the letter “M” which symbolizes the corporate logo of the client and could also refer to the Metro rail project. The design called for an abstraction of the symbol without compromising on the functional aspects or aesthetic appeal. Hence, the form was developed as an iconic structure indicating growth and movement.
This futuristic language formed the concept for the museum. The museum is meant to house exhibition spaces, theatres, food and cultural spaces. Well integrated landscape enhances the design value.
