The restoration project with elements of reconstruction of the former St. Catherine Girls High School, now high school number 13. The object is located on Boulevard Square (Svobody Square). The object was built in 1893, designed by the city architect N.N. Durbaha. School should be maintained and restored, since it is a valuable architectural and closing link in the urban composition of the quarter.
A full-scale survey carried out to determine the technical condition of the structural elements of the object is reported in the certificate of inspection, showing that the physical deterioration of the building was estimated at 50.2 %, whereas construction works make up only for 20-30 % of the total volume of construction and are reduced mainly to the replacement of the roof truss system, its coverage and partial redevelopment of the premises. Foundations of the school number 13, like many buildings of XIX and early XX centuries, are made of rubble stone, wherein can be traced small fractures of the base material and a slight increase in load on the foundation. The base material should be strengthened by way of injecting sodium silicate polyisocyanate solution. Based on archival photographic materials on the facade of the school building number 13 there were detected elements which had been lost and destroyed over time items. The replacement of plaster on the facade of the building with the restoration of decorative elements with prior curing of the brickwork is needed. The architectural and artistic appearance of the building is also formed with the help of the complex segmental frontons of the lateral avant-corps, and moldings: heraldic sill inserts of the central avant-corps, wreaths, cartouches, medallions in the design of openings and pilasters. The facades and interiors of the school will be restored in the same neo-classical style.
