The project of the school of Savanette was set up to help the Haitian population of the region which found itself in difficulty after the earthquake of January 2010. The school now provides good education conditions to the children in the region.

After the Earthquake in Haiti in January 2012, the families took refuge in the interior of the country and many children were not able to go to school because of the destruction or damage of schools.

The project of Savanette’s school includes:

- An “educational center” to accommodate children in an environment conducive to learning.
- Premises for a school catering, to assure at least one daily meal, as well as sanitary installation and toilets, allowing a hygiene education.
- Educational outdoor facilities: The creation of a vegetable garden and a chicken coop will help the food autonomy of the school and also help on terms of transmission of knowledge of the earth.
- External extensions: covered playground and playground.

Furthemore, wood used are carefully selected for their quality and provenance. For each trunk cut, two news trees are planted.

The International Union of Architects is partner of the project.
