CHANG -Elephants have been widely revered totem, symbolizing power, authority, talent, wealth, prosperity and good luck in Thailand for many centuries. Famous as the strongest beasts of burden, they were important in battle, with kings mounted on Elephants fighting the country enemy on many occasions. White elephants or Chang phuk, symbolic of the king, Elephants are still considered to be auspicious animals and especially prized even included in the flag of the Royal Thai navy, The elephants association with the three key institutions of the country — nation, religion and king, through the centuries.

The project is applied a conceptual of location name as KOW RUP CHANG-elephant like hill. A local municipality building. A conceptual design of Thais believes as symbolizing of both location name and elephant was used.
-The location of mayor room places at the top of building same as king sit at front neck in the battle.
-Vertical shading devices effective on north south direction were applied.
-Wall and window ratio- WWR – for energy efficiency was used to minimize heat at east west direction.
-Tropical conceptual design were applied.
