Lantern Wonderland, displayed at Victoria Park in Causeway Bay during the 2003 Mid-autumn Festival, was William Lim`s winning entry in a competition hosted by the Hong Kong Tourism Board. It consisted of a 15-metre high dome constructed mainly out of long, flexible but resilient bamboo. It incorporated various elements traditionally seen in Chinese architecture and landscaping: the portal (xüan-guan), bamboo balustrades, bridges, a lotus pond, a courtyard and the main chambers.
William Lim graduated from Cornell University in USA. After graduation, he worked in Boston for 5 years before returning to Hong Kong in 1987. He worked for a Hong Kong developer for 6 years. In 1993, he assumed the position of Managing Director at CL3 Architects Ltd.
