The "new" does not have to be continuation of history. The "new" can be new for site, people, usage in real terms. For Beşiktaş, the new "library" concept approach is to combine the nature, green and public areas with knowledge and library which are not in the site but necessary for people. With these, the architectural form is based on amorphous forms and it is aimed to make an "information cave" which creates the most pure meeting place with nature for the users. In this context, the building purposes to connect the cave concept which is one of the pure structures of nature, with the deep feelings which are created knowledge and books, in ironically.
Concept of the "library" has to be more than just reading and bookshelves. Access the information has to be all-purpose. Or accessibility and shareability of knowledge should not just stand in the library, it can be in everywhere including around the library.
The building provide the "new" with being green. It brings a new perspective to the concepts of conventional green tissue. In this context, the building provides a new green tissue concept that produces green itself and grows over time. The outer surfaces of the concrete and seed mixture are transformed into a plant cover with a mixture of algae and mushrooms according to natural weather conditions.
