Designed in response to city’s need for a collaborative office space for urban studies, Urban Atelier aims to become an open and transparent hub. The site is located right outside of the city walls which is an area mostly consists of unregulated warehouses and factories. Due to this characteristics of the surrounding area, the program is organized around two courtyards. The atelier tries to respond the needs of contemporary work environment. The building skin is inspired by the ancient masonary techniques that are used in the city walls.
