DORiC (Doric International Center) is a cultural complex that aims towards a more sustainable model of growth for the region of Dorida in Greece, via arts, research and environmental and technological education. It consists of a museum, a library, a researh center, an amphitheater, a mixed use sector and open spaces used for agricultural education. The primary ideas of this project are the visual experience, the perspective of lake Mornos and the surrounding mountains, as well as the adaptation of the buildings to its rough and rocky manmade site.

There are some important design principles that are demonstrated throughout the project. The division of volumes that characterizes the building in combination with the earthy materials and the fact that the biggest part of the building is developed under the earths surface, giving the impression that it emerges from the ground. In order to achieve a better fit to the surroundings, the size of the proposed volumes escaletes to follow the natural slope of the ground, which used to exist before any human intervention.
