Nawah olive grove center is located in the city of Al Baha, Saudi Arabia, within the infamous Kheirah forest. The project aims to contribute to the Kingdom’s Vision of 2030 in improving nature-related tourism, local productivity, and the environment through six zones: The main one being the olive grove where visitors experience self-picking and ecotherapy, an exhibition museum, to showcase the Saudi olive
history and culture, a health and therapy area regarding ecotherapy, restaurants, cafes, and shops, a manufacturing factory where people get to experience and see how olive oil is made.
The main concept of the design was to give its visitors a feeling of contentment and relaxation within the natural environment, the smooth curves indicating a relaxed mindset and within the walls of the building, Glass walls and multiple glass floor areas that integrate the visitors with the olive trees below the building from different angles. To get the full nature experience, the observation bridge with seats overlooking the olive grove for those who like to sit, relax, and observe while listening to the sound of the waterfalls rushing down to the lowest level of the project.
Nawah is a purely connected project as the aim was to have easy access to any part of the project from each zone, Hence, central circulation stems were designed to connect all different levels of the project, outdoors and indoors. The project aims to provide multiple sources of edutainment concerning olives and nature. A great tourist attraction site for people to learn, experience, have fun, and try new things.
