The Neighborhood is a modular housing system that focuses on unifying a diverse community of people by utilizing common spaces that encourage interactivity. The Neighborhood is a prefabricated residential system that provides custom services for the multi-family modular units. Each design is a great representation of the versatility and wide range of customization capabilities of The Neighborhood housing system.

Affordable Modular Collective Unit: Housociety, How Society
Operating as a building block that is part of The Neighborhood integrated system, Housociety is a combination of well-oriented, and multi-functional modular construction that promote a wellness experience for users who live in this community. Modular construction breaks from traditional built projects and allows novel designs to be realised. Modular Housociety may be suited for a wide variety of environments, varying from urban to rural.

Multi-Generation Modular Housociety Goals
Housociety has the potential to make the users have more interations in reality instead of virtual connections, and it promotes wellness through the individual unit and communal space by making users share moments and activities through physical connections. According to the research, people were gen rally happier decades ago than now, because social connections are good for people's mental health. Housociety re-defines the life styles we live in now and also the future: How society (Housociety) connects The Neighborhood community, and different generations who live in this community.

System & Flexibility
Housociety modular home can be set in a location of their choice, rurual, urban, or suburban.
The modules can combine in a variety of ways: horizontal, vertical. In the way Housocieties are built, the system becomes The Neighborhood, and various public spaces appear. The advantage for Housociety is having the potential to let more people live in this modular home. For example, the multi-generational family rooms can shift into two separate shared-dorm for people who just graduated from college and looking for a comfortable, affordable housing to live.

Quality of Living
Space quality is our priority when we design a space: exploring the in-betweeness of publicity and privacy, appropriate space for storage, and relaxed entertaining space. Each individual room is multi-functional, and there are built in storages in each room to ensure there are enough spaces for people to organize their personal belongings in the space. The alternative private space allows each person to have both relaxed and working space in their own shelter. People who do not know each other also have the opportunity to use the shared public space includes living area, open kitchen. By combining both individual and community space in one modular home, people bond and connect, the action helps us to emphasize the concept of The Neighborhood and Housociety.

Sustainability
There are sufficient light in each space, and people have access to the outdoor terrace in vary locations within the modular home. The openess of the space creates a feeling of comfortness, also helps people to reduce their anxiety. Besides the multi-funtional of the modular home, nature is the vital element of people's living. To enhance the quality of living and wellness, a terrace is added to each module. Members of the unit can enjoy themselves and do a verity of activities on the terrace. Having a small gathering in the shared terrace space will not only improve people's relationship, but also reduce the use of electricity by using the natural ourdoor thermal energy.

Housociety Experience Journey
Home implies a sense of belongings, safety, and relief. By using this color-coded experience journey diagram, we aim to express the idea of how to maximize the utilization of Housociety. The transition of making the shared relax space into an extra bedroom is to add a sliding door in this space. The process does not require professional experience on assembly, it is easy for people to change the space by themselves and have fun during the experience.

Affordability & Wellness
The modular Housociety design takes time, and cost into consideration besides user's experience. The furniture and furnishing are majority low cost, easy to assemble, and flat-packed. The selection of flat-packing furniture protects the environment and reduce the carbon emissions. Paint is one of those products many of us don't think twice about, except when it comes to color. Once we've honed in on the perfect shade, our main priority is getting it up on the walls as soon as possible. While a freshly painted room may seem harmless, there are some chemicals in paint that can be toxic, many of which are grouped into voes. They're what causes that "fresh paint" smell that gives some people headaches. VOC's have been flagged as potential health hazards, not just for humans but for the environment, too, which is why selecting a non-toxic paint is a good idea, especially in high-traffic rooms like your kitchen. By using zero emissions and zero voes paint for the wall, people can live a more healthy live by not inhaling the invisible toxic chemicals.

Modules & Assembly
Modular construction consists of whole building units prefabricated under controlled conditions and transported to construction site on a flatbed trailer. These units are lifted into their final location on a foundation that is constructed ahead of delivery. Concrete podium construction is a good choice for multi-family buildings since it allows for larger spans required for parking and retail at the site with the residential modules placed above. The modules can be easily stacked and transported by track.
