The World Theater in Prague: in 1998 the city of Prague decided to convert the desolate former power plant into a World Theater - a venue for travelling theater companies. Its location was strategic for the future development of the area: the property is directly between the new underground train- and subway station and the city`s famous leisure and fun park. Our design capitalizes on this by opening up the basement level and creating a public square, complete with waterfall. The program is purposely diverse: a home improvement megastore, a jazz club, an underground grotto-disco, a 24-hour supermarket, thesbian apartments, the theater, a trash theater, the public square and restaurants...
