A glowing lamp on the square! The curved glass facade in the ground floor invites visitors to park their bicycle, read interesting information from the municipality and watch the technical installations lifting the bicycles to their place in the tower. The upper part of the tower functions as a lantern and a sculpture, with possibilities to attach solar cells in the structure. Two colors signals if the tower is available or full. The white light signals available spaces for bicycles, whilst the red light shows that the tower is full. The bicycle tower at Drottningtorget is a sketch proposal designed for the City of Gothenburg.
