Holiday country house for a retired couple, with a lively social life and love for natural open environment.
The beautiful propriety, a gently sloping hillside in the countryside, suggested the creation of a private court with a long pool to frame an intimate space without any boundaries. Thus the buildings are positionaed along two sides of the court, onto a new basament with a massive perimeter of stone blocks.
The required program, aiming for separated public and private spaces, is fulfilled providing a scheme with two different buildings, visually connected with glass facades and closed towards the entrance at north side. A patio creates a phisical relationship beteen the two parts of the building while keeping them functionally divided, bringing nature into the house. The bedrooms are positioned on the east side, all facing towards the meadows, and the service facilites on that side are directly connected with a balcony provided with a shading outer cladding, keeping the iconic volume of the building untouched.
