Description

An earthquake took place in Sarepol Zahab which destroyed peoples affordable housing. As people there were lowest-payed class society, they need to have a new cheap house which can be built fastly. We decided to design affordable housing, which has some factors such as living quality both in architecture and urban design, Diverse designing, unlike typical affordable housing, and respect to their history and culture, which can help them to forget the catastrophe.

2018 Sarpol-e Zahab earthquake with magnitude 6.3 earthquake struck western Iran near its border with Iraq at 20:07 local time on Sunday night, 25 November 2018 injuring over 700 people and sending fearful residents running into the street. One fatality and 45 injuries were also reported in the neighbouring Iraq.

The city built during the dictatorship never has a basic and organic variety. We always tried to design a town which has a variety in all aspects. In this view people can feel they are part of the town and town is part of them. They feel designers respect them and designed each house individually. So we created a town organically to have a variety of spaces, unlike typical affordable housing, which all their town are similar.
