Prosperity of Yangtze River Delta and Elegance of Ancient Nanjing
Accompanied by Paddle Sounds, Beautiful Singing Comes out of the Gaily-Painted Boat.

With a thousand years passing by, while the figures who made history have all vanished, the Qinhuai River keeps running as gently as it used to be. The winding river has witnessed the glamour and prosperity of the city, and nurtured countless backbone talents for the country. It is the most charming scenery of Nanjing City as well as the source of inspiration for YANG’s design in the stylish and luxury G Hotel.

Located in the world’s highest three-tower building and also Asia’s largest commercial complex, G Hotel Nanjing adheres to the artistic level of the landmark in pursuit of top-class luxurious and trendy lifestyle. YANG’s design allows the past and the present to inherit and integrate yet collide and challenge with each other so as to enliven the space and bring a wholly new experience of “chasing the trend”.

Searching for the Common Memory of a City

The elevator hall featured with antique copper gates recalls old times in a modern space, providing a “time tunnel” that arouses guests’ interest in further exploration.

When arriving at the sky lobby or lobby lounge (located at the three-tower connecting floor), guests’ attention is easily attracted by visual highlights because of the minimalist space design. Anyone standing at such a height is privileged to look down at the stunning whole view of Jinling (old name of Nanjing) and revel in the high-in-the-clouds experience.

Taking design cues from the ancient city wall, the massive metal frame at the lobby lounge entrance maintains the linkage with the lobby while ensuring the independence of the lounge. Its see-through structure translates the profoundness of ancient culture into fashion and lightness.

Silhouettes of Paddles, Reflections of Riverside Scenery, all Surprise Travelers Passing by.

Singing nightingales, dancing swallows, and silhouettes of paddles, all of which form up a prosperous scenery in Qinhuai. Miles of allure and romance along the river perfectly match the freedom, fashion and vitality brand DNA of G hotel.

To effectively utilize the space and gather guest groups, the sky loggia connecting the three towers is transformed from a public corridor into an exhibition atrium plus lobby lounge. The design by YANG enriches hotel functions, making it the most creative highlight in the hotel.

The exhibition atrium, with its ceiling elevated to five stories high, is originally a lift hall that directly reaches the sky lounge at the 55th floor. The iridescent glass covering on the 13-meter elevated wall imitates the golden shades of sunset glow reflected on river water, bringing an astonishing visual effect. Moving upwards with the lift, guests will indulge themselves in a dreamlike space where colorful ripples seem to be within their reach.

The exterior of the lift is installed with a 13-meter LED screen. The eye-catching advertisements it displays not only add vibrant elements to the space, but also make the hall a pre-function area of the adjacent multimedia center for staging open-style exhibitions or launch events.

Once stepping into the lobby lounge, guests will enjoy sufficient circulation and novel F&B experience thanks to the half-open wall facing the corridor. The ceiling is covered by huge ripple-patterned metal plates. The gloss of the material is further highlighted by the soft lighting, giving a mixed and amazing feeling to guests that may wonder whether they are sitting in a cloud club or in a painted boat under the moonlight.

Dazzling Lanterns, Full Moon and Blooming Flowers Together Form up a Pleasant Night.

When lanterns along the Qinhuai River are lit up, celebrities gather in the ballroom. Clusters of light fixtures hung on the ceiling draw inspiration from the nobility of plum blossom. With the lights complemented by the wave-patterned carpet, an extremely elegant space is created to extend the best wishes to all visitors.

The Qinhuai River Carries the Cultural Essence of the City.

Of Qinhuai legend, half is about ancient scholars’ love affairs, and the other is about their aspirations. As the cultural center in ancient times, open-mindedness and heroism have been deeply rooted in the city’s character.

The open-minded culture can be firstly found in the PDR, a space decorated with the mix of Chinese-style lamps and western leather chairs. The sharp contrast between deep blue and rich red implies the coexistence of history and future in the city.

The light-toned ADD restaurant creates a quiet and elegant atmosphere that enables guests to relish pure leisure after night revelries. Greeted by the rising sun and seen off by the sunset glow, guests sitting high in the sky will be delighted by the delicacies served and full relaxation.

The Glamour of Yuhua Stones Goes Beyond Time.

Yuhua stones, lying silently on the bank of Qinhuai, have become ever gorgeous after a thousand years of wash. As the witness of the glory of six ancient dynasties as well as of the fashion and vitality of modern Nanjing, the stone provides a source of inspiration for guestroom design.

The plump shape of the pebble is manifested in the curves of ceiling and furniture, whereas its gorgeous colors are applied in carpet and throw pillow, making the space natural and tranquil while modern and stylish.

The guestroom deviates from conventional space design, which displays everything at a glance. Instead, a mosaic wall is placed at the foyer as a screen to enhance privacy while arousing a stronger interest in the inner space.

Curtain cloth or wired glass door is used to separate the bathroom from the bedroom. Switchable glass applied in the shower compartment enables flexible adjustment to light transmittance, providing a more open-style living experience for guests.

Searching for the lost prosperity of the city and bringing out the same resonance among guests, G Hotel designed by YANG echos the Qinhuai River to bring back the dreamland of colorful night life to redefine the top-level luxury and trendy lifestyle.
