PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE in Krasnoyarsk

DESIGN CONCEPT OF A PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE
The footbridge over highway is a connecting element of two recreational sites in the suburban area – boulevard “Studencheskiy” and park “Gremyachaya Griva”.
The transition is located on an active walking and sports-running path, so it is designed as a dynamic communication link, where, by means of figurative and compositional expression, it “charges” visitors with the energy of tension of twisted spirals.
The supporting elements and the “pipe” of the pedestrian bridge connects the flyovers, which have an expressive shape, but the geometry of the structural elements and the material, from which they are made, are in harmony with the naturalness of the surrounding forest, and the flyovers themselves direct pedestrians in space at the level of trees branches.
The design solution of this object is based on the discrete network forming technology "ADM", developed by our studio. The system consists of universal metal nodes and linking elements made of glued or solid wood, and allows creating objects of various configurations. It has the flexibility of formation, adaptability to the place and functional needs, and characterizes the quality of recreational spaces that can serve as a "guide" for the dialogue between nature and the city.
The principles of the laws of formation of discrete fabric reflect the specifics of not only aesthetics, but also demonstrate the interchangeability of system elements. This structural technology makes it possible to build an "eternal" pedestrian bridge - a spacer metal rod can be inserted into the slots provided in the nodes, and the connecting element made of glued timber can be replaced with a new one.
