The vision of the project is redeveloping Bazar area with urban issues, values on the basis of the context. This context has different characteristics, historical issues, pattern of lifestyle, surroundings impact of two Dhaka (old & new). But the unplanned growth creates so many problems to sustain in near future. For future expansion of bazar, lacks of social needs, holding characteristics, improving urban facilities etc. the bazar area needs to be reformed. The thinking of redevelopment is based on commercial & recreational where¬ different recreational zone are connected to commercial space for creating vibrant spaces.
The existing functions of the site are wholesale, retail shops, cloth storage, scrap items shops, mixed use shops, sewing with tailoring shops etc. Side by side so many hawkers are gathered in several place all the day. The analysis phase started from the sequence of the history, present and future need. Firstly the site has some historical impact of old Dhaka Chronology. The location of the site in urban fabric is breathable, more openly. Although having history of the context, the root of bongo bazar is hawkers. Gradual increase of hawkers from 1950 it becomes a present one. But fire hazard, traffic problem, business expansion, storage problem etc. become a threat for existence. The final is future need which show the problem of increasing population ,lack of recreational facilities, breathing area, green belt etc. all urban problems. From the analysis data it shows the need of recreational space, space that serves the surroundings, green & open areas, proper traffic solution, commercial growth, expanding the business and more. The thinking was improving commercial, recreational & environmental condition by respecting contextual characteristics of area.
Integrating the dots where the dots are the activities of people, function of context of two dhakas. The aim is to integrate two environment. So the thinking is started from the gateway (road through the site) which integrates the two Dhaka.it becomes a transitional pathway for people where recreational zone, shopping areas, hawkers area, gathering place etc. are included. First the bazar zone (wholesale & retail) is organized on the basis of courtyard concept of old Dhaka. Tea stall, food shops, sitting areas are locating each and every courtyard for making the place playful. Because it’s not a place for just trading but also communication, gathering, holding social characteristics. It’s also for natural ventilation for reducing the cost of market. So the court to indoor, indoor to pedestrian all are interconnected to every space.

Basically the root of this bazar is hawkers. For keeping those in systematic way there are different numbering hawker’s zone. The bazar open from 9 A.M.-6 P.M. Side by side major courtyard areas have various function occasionally. IN the proposal there are monthly/weekly market, food cart zone, general shops, multiple public gathering spaces etc. These are factors for making the place vibrant.
On the other side recreational zone (multipurpose hall, cinema hall and historical museum) is for keeping the place active for all the time in case of holiday. The museum is mainly locator of historical places for traveler & gathering of the history of places. And the final zoning portion having a commercial tower to balancing the costing of the market.
The scenario of space has different phase. In the time of Ramadan, Eid the whole area changed more. Hawker’s pattern changes quickly in time of fasting.Eid, Puja the occasional time the gathering is increased a lot. On the other side the regular basis time university student of hall, surroundings people gathered here and passing times. All those playful characteristics have uniqueness.
Finally the changes here can bring a livable space in the future. Because the aim is to fulfill the need, combining commercial and recreational facilities, systematical planning & respecting our historical pattern. So, it can be a better environment, place with vibrant character not only for the site but also for its surroundings.
