The main focus was to address the present problems the island is facing, mainly power and water supply, drainage, transportation and garbage disposal. Upon assessing these existing conditions, my group together with the master planners, were able to come up with 3 distinct areas namely, Yapak, Balabag and Manoc-Manoc. Each area were designed with heirarchical emphasis in terms of security, accessibility, amenities and clientele.
2009
We introduced a new water distribution system that came from 2 plus 1 reserve station, underground electrical distribution to avoid the hanging wires, improved stp tankers that are area designated, new mode of transportation that are also area designated, and basically a whole island redevelopment with concerns on forest reserve and wildlife preservation.
Me and my Architect colleagues were commissioned by the Department of Tourism in the Philippines to work hand in hand with the Master Planners to do a study of the development of the Boracay Island as a sole tourist spot.
