Open air Music Performance and Exhibition Center in the area of Sfageia, Thessaloniki

The project is an “Open air Music Performance and Exhibition center”.
The city of Thessaloniki was chosen due to its size, which is suitable for the scale of the project. In addition Thessaloniki lacks of a place where medium or small scale open air concerts may be performed.
In this project, the first target and the main difficulty was the full function of the building during the whole year, even in winter. Thats why an effort was made to combine ideas concerning the different functions of the building and their spaces as well (Studios, hostels, a hall of multiple uses, an exhibition hall, the smaller music stagesbars, stores,a broad cast station, and several entertainment points)
Our target is the creation of a unified music place instead of many different music places. Thus, we decided to give the sense of a pit and generally an amphitheatric sense regarding the volume of the building. As a result of that, the centre will be identified with the stage and the building will fulfill its aim.

We decided that concrete is the most appropriate material of this building, as it is combined properly with the industrial environment of the area.
