It is a building of unusual transparency. It is this transparency which declares its daylight credentials; the intension was to provide an office building which would maximize the use of daylight and give the impression of being wholly lit by natural light. The floor plates are arranged so that no one sits more than 13 m from a window. The windows are all triple glazed on all but the north side, with fully automated light shelves.

The study was to promote daylight conscious design. My research started from conceptual design phase, selection of systems and their application comprising of initial to final stage planning parameters, such as decisions on shape and windows size, as well as specific functional objectives of daylighting strategies. I studied advanced daylighting systems and control strategies which are another step forwards in providing daylit, user-friendly, energy-efficient building environments.
