Craftsmanship of Gold Jewelry is an ancient Indian tradition passed on through generations. A proposal has been given of an Institute to enrich and protect the traditional way of Jewelry design. This proposal has been presented to the Municipal department of the city Rajkot, India. The city is known for its jewelry making. 70% of the gold and silver jewelry making work is carried in the city itself and there are small home based institutions for transforming skills to the young generations. A visionary proposal for an Institute in the city will be a face-lifting feature to the city.

It would be India’s first Institution of its kind, where skilled craftsmanship, Design management, Jewelry business, Technology for Jewelry making are enrolled within the course curriculum. This institute will have design learning studios and workshops which will facilitate the concept of designer jewelry. Also there will be exhibition gallery and display areas for the people to come and watch different kind of newly designed jewelries.
