the needs of a growing family and additional space necessitated the replacement of a small poorly equipped kitchen, the proposal intended to provide increased engagement with the garden and a new focus for daily family life.
referential to the client brief stipulating direct connection to the garden, plentiful natural light and additional space as primary concerns, the scale and proportion of the gardenroom was carefully considered to ensure that only a minimal imposition on the house and its immediate surroundings was made.
utilising a subtle mix of traditional and contemporary materials and forms, the palette aims to blend old and new to an enjoyable contemporary response to its scottish vernacular context.

paper, bringing further commodity and delight to this handsome family home, within a relatively
