conceptual project proposal for a ‘science center’ to take place in zeytinburnu/ İstanbul. the building aims to attract visitors from all ages and act as a place where explanations, experiments, devices of scientific theories will be exhibited. inbetween the large wings of these exhibition areas, on the main large corridor, temporary exhibitions are thought to take place. besides, with planetarium and observatories, users are aimed to enjoy astronomic observing experience. a mediatheque, a multi purpose meeting room and café/restaurant are some of the other units to be offered to the users.

the plot is currently being used as a large public park which is frequently used by the locals, that is why the project aims not to harm the relationship between the locals and this open green area. in addition to this park another park area is present to the south. accordingly a continuous green belt is intended to be formed on north-south axis. therefore, with the help of the natural topography of the site, northern part of the building (permanent exhibition areas) has been taken to underground.

to the south of the plot, there is a main street on which many other public buildings take place ( a stadium, a large shopping center, a set of hospitals and medical complexes). hence, southwestern end of the plot is chosen to be the focus of construction to catch the urban axis.
