This is a renovation of a small 40 year-old house in Tokyo.
In a downtown of Tokyo, there are thousands of small wooden houses, like the house in this project, and most of them are just waiting to be collapsed.
The challenge of this project is to revitalize and fit this 53m2-small house to contemporary life.
As this house is too close to have different condition from street environment, the space is re-organized in the sequence of an old shopping street. To represent the street-sequence, the interior is sprit by a wall stood along a longitude direction of the house, and the skylight across the long space creates changing spatial condition with leaning of the sun.
