the concept used for the schematic design of this garden is inspired in the modernist movement.

mondrian’s interpretation of minimalism provided inspiration for various artists throughout the modernist movement. one of these artists for whom this garden renders tribute is master edgar negret.

the landscape becomes the frame in which negret’s sculptures emerge from the ground through the relationship between the organic, the abstract shapes, and modern
art. using the geometry from mondrian’s paintings the project consists of a series of spaces in which the architecture, the landscape and the sculptures interact dynamically. by sharing with the spectator an intellectual narrative of modern art, the spaces are designed with a sense of unique place that lives in memory.
